What's The Fuss About Generative AI?
You've probably heard of GPT-3, Stable Diffusion, ChatGPT and a ton of other AI output generation technologies. These "generative AIs", aka GenAI, are a subset of the broad technology subset called artificial intelligence.
The tools built using these technologies are disrupting the creator economy - making writing, drawing and making music totally automated.
GenAI is causing quite a storm because of its ability to radically cut down on the time and effort for producing content without (too much) sacrificing of the human ability to create.
It is being used to automate the tasks of knowledge workers, such as content writers, graphic designers, video producers, and programmers. From writing articles to expert research, from creating images to generating music, machine learning and AI based on very large data models are changing the way content is being created.
Because it has superhuman capabilities, generative AI improves productivity, is easier to scale, and can create a variety of content types (from writing to video to music).
Businesses and individual creators are leveraging generative AI tools to create content, save time, and increase efficiency. Generative AI is a promising step in the right direction and early adopters will have a significant edge over their competitors.
In this guide to the generative AI tools, I list the GenAI tools that I use to help me be more productive, leaving me with more time to put my mind to the creative side of whatever it is that I'm working on.
Here's The Thing: These AI tools are not meant to fully replace me or my creativity. They couldn't even if I wanted them to. But, what they do do, is the heavy lifting, the grunt work.
I hope you find this list a helpful guide to getting started with using generative AI in yoru content creation process.

Summarize.tech: create AI powered video summaries
I use summarize.tech to write a summary of my own YouTube videos.
Summarize.tech is powered by GPT-3 and will summarise any long-form YouTube video. The output is a time stamped series of chapters, breaking down the long video into segments with a time stamped link to take the reader to the start of the section that's been summarised.
This saves me a ton of time in the YouTube video post-production process. After I've uploaded the video, I run it through Summarize.Tech and it produces the summary I need for the blogpost that runs alongside the video.
This ability to repurpose content across multiple formats and platforms is fundamental to any content strategy. I use Summarize.Tech to make more get through my work quicker than if I was to manually write a summary of the video.

Quillbot: when AI writing tools do the heavy lifting
I use Quillbot when I want to rephrase or repurpose existing content
Talking of repurposing content, there are many times when I want to summarise one of my long-form articles, or re-purpose it without confusing Google which is the original version. I use Quillbot to do this without having to go through the effort of doing it myself.
Quillbot’s summariser AI tool comes in a free and a paid version with a handy and easy to use Chrome browser extension. What I like about Quillbot is that it gives me multiple options to adjust how I want the summary to be rewritten (formal, expanded, short, easy to understand).
