To be clear, the tech and the tools listed on the page are only some of the gadgets, technology and tools that I use to do what I do. I use them because I like them not because they are considered the best.

Just that I think they're the best for me.

The Technology I Use

You probably won't be surprised to hear that I love my technology and gadgets. It's not just the aesthetics that appeal to me, but also the utility. Investing in the right tech is an investment well made. Because the time and effort saved by having the right tools to help you get the job done is worth its weight in gold.

Because... when you are a creator, time is your biggest challenge. So, anything you can do to save yourself precious time is worth the investment. It's also a lonely job at times, so anything that reminds you that you're worth it, also has a great payback.

In this article, I'm going to share with you some of the tech, tools and gadgets that I use. When you see a link with the Amazon logo that means the link is an affiliate link and takes you to an Amazon page.

They're simple, they use USB, they get the job done. Purists would have you spend a lot more, but you don't need to.

The key thing when recording podcasts or making YouTube videos is clarity in your voice. When I started out I used just the mic in the MacBook, which was fine...but, it soon became clear that I needed a specialist audio input if I was to up my game.

A podcasting buddy of mine pointed me to Blue Microphones...and I've never looked back.

📝 iPad Pro

I have been an iPad user since the very first generation. I'm on my 5th one now!

The current iPad I'm using is the 12.9 inch iPad Pro with the M1 chip. The great thing about the iPad is that there are so many configurations to chose from, to shut your budget and your productivity requirements. Or even if you are (just) a social user that want easy and quick access to the Internet, go on social media, chat with friends or to play games.

w/MacBook Air

💻 MacBook Air M1

I bought my first Macbook Air in 2014 and it lasted 7 years! It still runs now, just slowly. So, in 2020 I upgraded to the first-gen M1 as my main productivity tool.

This gets great reviews. The switch away from Intel to Apple's own computer chip is under the hood. It's more of an interest to me as a follower of Apple's verticalisation strategy than from a technical perspective.

I'd be lost without my Macbook. And although I don't travel as much as I did, I'd always prefer the Air over the Pro.

☎️ Huawei P30

I've been an Apple aficionado for over a decade. And I never thought I'd switch away from the iPhone, but I did. I'm on my second Android and currently, I'm working with the Huawei P30.

It's an unbelievable mobile with a great camera (Leica Triple System), unbelievable battery life and is super fast to use. Plus, it's a fraction of the price of an iPhone

The reason I switched away from the iPhone is because I wanted to have a dual sim mobile. I did not want to be carrying 2 phones all the time.

With the P30, I don't need to. The dual sim software lets me flip between my UK and Spanish sim cards effortlessly, with all calls and texts coming into one device regardless of which number they rang.

🎧 Apple Airpods Pro

Apple's AirPods are one of my favourite gadgets.

No messing around with cables and wires. Simply pop them into your ears and they instantly connect to my Macbook or iPad. They're perfect if you, like me, listen to podcasts whilst you are doing something else, whether that is pottering around the house or riding out the beach on your bike.

When I'm writing I like to listen to binaural beats. They help me stay focused on the task in hand. Listening on Airpods is the perfect way to stay on track and productive.

It's hardly surprising that over 100 million people own Airpods and it is the single most successful piece of wearable tech in the world.

✒️MontBlanc Meisterstuck Rollerball Pen

Although I am almost 100% paper-free in my life, I do find great value and creativity in paper and pen. When I'm planning my day or capturing the millions of ideas that are floating around my head, or journaling as part of my early morning routine, nothing beats a high-quality pen and notebook.

And here's why.

With pen and paper, I feel a connection between the thoughts in my head and the expression of them on the paper in front of me.

I can see what I'm thinking in a connected way that I don't experience when typing my thoughts and ideas straight into my MacBook or iPad.

For a pen, I write with a Montblanc Meisterstuck Rollerball Pen. It feels great in my hand and writes smoothly in the notebook.
